Hello, I'm Ronald Andrew Murphy
Life after 55 can feel like uncharted territory. After decades of hard work, structure, and responsibility, suddenly, the road ahead looks different. For some, this phase is liberating—finally, time to relax! But for many others, it’s unsettling.
I know this feeling firsthand. I spent 40 years working in technology management and consulting, helping businesses adapt to digital transformation. My career was always about learning, adapting, and helping others do the same.
Then, corporate retirement came. Getting away from the commute and the 10 hour days felt good for a while, but eventually I grew restless. Before long I was back at my computer, working. This time though I worked for myself as a digital marketer. I built websites, created video courses, and ran an ecommerce shop. That went well enough for a number of years, until my wife was diagnosed with colon cancer. Interest in my business ventures faded as I focused more on trying to help her. By the time she passed after four years, I was doing nothing. The sense of emptiness was overwhelming. Without my career and my lifelong partner, I found myself asking: What now?
I realized I needed a new sense of purpose—not just to pass the time, but to stay engaged, connected, and fulfilled. That journey led me here: to coaching, writing, and guiding others through this same transition.
This guide is not about finances or how to “fill the time.” It’s about building a life you love—one that keeps you learning, growing, and contributing in meaningful ways.
